Understanding the Customization Quoting Process

While standard enclosures can be added directly to your cart, if you want to add CNC machining or graphic services, you must create a quote first. The process is quick, easy and can be completed by yourself, entirely online - with or without your final project drawings. No submitting a request, no waiting on us, no hassle - you're in control from quote to order.

This guide walks you through how to generate your own quote and explains what happens after you've placed a custom order.

Create Your Custom Quote

Step 1: Find the Right Enclosure

You can search by size or browse by category to find the ideal enclosure for your project.

Once you've selected an enclosure, scroll down to the "ADD TO CART" button, if the product is eligible for customization you'll see a "CUSTOMIZE IT" button next to it. Simply click the "CUSTOMIZE IT" button to start your quote.

Step 2: Select CNC Machining Options

Most of our enclosures consist of multiple components (such as base and cover) - our quoting process breaks these down to help identify the number of surfaces required. You can easily identify the component of your enclosure by following the "Product Drawing" guide on the right side of the quote tool.

To quote CNC machining:

  • Select how many surfaces you want machined.
  • Enter the total number of features (cutouts, threaded holes, counterbores, etc.) required on those surfaces.

As you enter this information, the "Price Summary" will update in real-time to give you a clear idea of costs associated to each surface and feature added.

Note: We do not need to know the size and location of machining in order to generate a quote. Information/drawings is not required until you are ready to order your custom project. If you do not need CNC machining, and only need graphics, simply click "CONTINUE" to skip this step.

Step 3: Add Graphics

If you're including graphics, you'll follow a similar process:

  • Select the number of surfaces to be printed or laser marked.
  • Choose the number of colors for each surface (1-color, 2-color, 3-color or full color).

Note: We do not need to know the size and location of your graphics in order to generate a quote. Information/drawings is not required until you are ready to order your custom project. If you do not need graphics, and only need CNC machining, simply click "CONTINUE" to skip this step.

Step 4: Finalize Your Quote

Once you've made your selections, click "Get Quote" to proceed to the Quote Summary page.

From here you can:

  • Modify CNC or graphic selections
  • Edit contact information and your project's name
  • Download a PDF of your quote or email it to a colleague
  • View price breaks, one-time fees and expedite options
  • Review our quote terms and conditions (under "Quote Details") - including overages and approvals

Placing Your Custom Order

Upload your drawings to the Quote Summary page, input your quantity and select your lead time. Next, click "ADD TO CART" and checkout.

After Your Order Has Been Placed

Once your order is placed, you'll receive a confirmation email with your custom part number.

What Happens Next?
  1. Engineering Review: Our engineers ensure all necessary information has been provided and surfaces/features/color were quoted appropriately. If there are any adjustments, a member of our team will contact you via email.
  2. Productions Files: To ensure compatibility with the manufacturing process, our team will generate production files from your provided drawings and then upload them to your account for approval.
  3. Approval Process: You'll receive an email letting you know when the production drawings have been uploaded to your account and are ready for you to review. Production will strictly follow our product drawings, so it is critical to verify their accuracy before approval.
To Approve Your Drawings:
  • Log into your account
  • Click "MY QUOTES & CUSTOM PARTS"
  • Select "APPROVE DRAWINGS"

This will take you to a separate page where you'll be able to review your production drawings and either approve them or inform us of needed changes. Once drawings are approved, we begin production and your parts will be shipped according to the lead time you selected.
